Project:

World-renowned Quebecois actor/director Robert Lepage approached us to film and produce a documentary about his artistic relationship with Japan, and we eagerly jumped on board for this extremely unique project. Additionally, we explored the success that many other Quebecois artists have had in Japan and the underlying social and cultural forces that contribute to such an unexpected international relationship.

Story:

“The Andersen Project”, a one man show written by Robert Lepage, was mounted in Tokyo; however, the lead role was taken over by a well known Japanese Actor, Akira. Originally written in French, the play was translated into Japanese: revealing the impact of Japanese culture on Robert Lepage’s work, including his current work playing in Las Vegas.

Result:

The Documentary was successfully aired in Japan and entered a number of internationally acclaimed documentary festivals. Furthermore, we translated the film into Portuguese and English.
