Britannia Museum- Chinese Bunkhouse exhibit video

Last October, the Britannia Museum contacted us to produce a video for their new Chinese Bunkhouse exhibit in Steveston B.C. We eagerly dove into the research; amassing huge amounts of material from internet libraries about Chinese immigrants who came to Vancouver to work in the salmon canning industry. Approaching the project from a more personal perspective, we gravitated towards the story of a single man who left his family behind to work in Canada in the late 1800′s.

Featuring actor Milton Lim, the program was well-received, exceeding the client’s expectations and is now permanently installed in the museum’s “Chinese Bunkhouse” exhibit. The main feature was paired with another video in the exhibit; a filmed game of Mahjong projected onto a table-top, creating the illusion of a real game.
